With a unique and compelling UI and user experience, it makes writing online as easy and intuitive as writing on a pad of paper. It for iOS, macOS, Android, Windows and web (works seamlessly). Moreover, to keep your memories safe, entries will be encrypted and synced to the cloud for backup. All connections are encrypted via TLS 1.3 - technology designed for online banking, when you're using Hearty Journal on any of your devices. You can also set a password lock. Once set up, all your Hearty Journal apps which are installed on different devices will be locked.

# · Customize My Journal
Upload your favorite cover and background to create your unique style ⌯-ᴗo⌯ಣ
Tap the icon at the bottom left of the diary cover to enter "Customize My Journal." From there, you can edit the headline, cover, and background.
※ **Usage Guidelines:**
To maintain a positive online environment, users must comply with the following rules when uploading covers and background images:
■ Absolutely no content involving pornography, violence, self-harm, or other disturbing material.\
■ Absolutely no discriminatory or hate speech, or any content that violates public morality.\
■ Absolutely no content that invades privacy, such as private photos, information, or personal data shared without consent.\
■ Absolutely no politically sensitive or inflammatory content.\
■ Absolutely no advertisements, commercial promotions, or unauthorized brand endorsements of any kind.
If any violations are found, the platform reserves the right to remove the offending images at any time and may take further action as necessary, including but not limited to suspending or terminating account access.

# · Compose a Post
Click the button "How’s your day?" on the first page, or the button with a ╋ symbol to create a new post. By default, all the new posts are private and only visible to yourself.
There're few functions on the post toolbar, including (1) Remove, (2) Create, (3) Save, (4) Share and (5) Next Post.
Click the book icon on the top, you can see all your posts, including: \
1\. your private ones \
2\. your public ones\
3\. the posts you share with penpals\
4\. the posts that your penpal share with you\

These posts are marked with specific permission icons to help you identify who can read the post.
# · New Title for Posts
By default, the post title is set to "Untitled, July 1 (Current Date) ". To make it easier to organize, You may modify it as you want.
# · Assign a Post Date
When you compose a post, you can set the date to the future or backdate the post.
Click the weather icon besides the post title. You may change the date of the current post as you want. Please remember, posts will be listed in descending order by date in your journal.
# · Pin a Diary Entry
When you compose a post, you can set the date to the future or backdate the post.
Click the weather icon besides the post title. You may change the date of the current post as you want. Please remember, posts will be listed in descending order by date in your journal.
# · Upload Images
Record your private moments with images
Click the camera icon on the right, then select images to upload. For each post, you can select up to 8 images. Tap the uploaded images 1-by-1 to rotate, delete, download images or apply filters for images.
As a reminder, once the images are uploaded, they'll be synced and stored privately and securely on the cloud. Then you may delete the already uploaded ones on your phone to save space as you need.
You can browse all your uploaded photos at the section "images".
# · Add YouTube Videos
Add your favorite songs and video clips to posts
To add a YouTube video to your post, click the camera icon on the left, then enter the link of the video. Please note, the video has to be public and embedding enabled.
To comply with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), the YouTube privacy-enhanced mode is enabled on Hearty Journal, which means that your playing behavior on Hearty Journal is private and will not be collected by YouTube. [Learn more](https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/171780).
# · Choose a Sticker
1,200+ lovely journal stickers that you can use
Tap the smile icon at the top-right corner, you can see the stickers. Add a sticker you loved to a post, you can resize, scale, and rotate stickers on your post as needed. The layout may be aligned automatically to fit different screens on devices.
There are a plenty of unique stickers on Hearty Journal. The stickers are in different categories including weather, seasons, food, traveling, flower, animals, emoji, slogans, etc.
# · Highlight and Underline Texts
3 effects: Highlighted line, Wavy underline, Double underline
* Highlighted line: wrap text with **\*two star symbols*****\****
* Wavy underline: wrap text with **{curly braces}**
* Double underline: wrap text with **=equals signs=**
After adding these underlines, remember to tap the save button to apply the effects.
# · Add a Hashtag
Add hashtags to your posts for indexing.
Enter #hashtag (with a leading space) and tap the save button. Your hashtags will then become clickable and in orange. You're able to list posts with the same tag by tapping each tag.
# · Search for Posts
If you are using a phone or tablet, tap the book icon at the top-left corner to open the journal menu first. Then click the magnifier icon to search for posts. Tip: your may also add some #hashtags to your posts for indexing.
# · Passcode Lock
Enable passcode as an extra authentication to enhance account security.
If you are using a phone or tablet, tap the book icon at the top-left corner to open the journal menu first. Then click the lock icon to set up your passcode with a 4-digit number. After setup, the passcode can be used on all your devices.
# · Music Box
Tap the headphone icon on the menu. (Click the house icon to open the menu if you're using a phone first.) Add the YouTube links of your favorite songs to the box.
You can loop songs in the background when you're journaling.
# · Period Tracker
View period history and track future periods dates.
Tap the moon icon on the menu. (Click the house icon to open the menu if you're using a phone first.) Input your latest period dates to calculate and predict the start date of your next period.
# · 1-on-1 Shared Posts
Share your life memories with your loved ones
If you only want to share a post with certain friends, make sure they have become your penpals first. In the privacy dialog, add friends as your penpal by entering their Hearty IDs. Then, make the post "Private" and choose the ones you would like to share a post with. Please note, the shared posts are only editable by original composer. Your penpals have to create a new post if they would like to send you a feedback.
# · Backup Your Data
You can backup entries by exporting data to .png images and .txt files.

Click the "Home icon" to toggle the menu, then click the avatar to access the account settings. To Export all your posts to a.txt text file, click the "Export to txt file" button under the user avatar on the setting page.

# · How to enhance account security?
Good habits that immensely improve your online security
Do a security checkup with the following instructions.
1. Use a strong and unique password. Stop using the same password for multiple websites.
2. Don't share your account with others.
3. Set up a passcode (4 digits) as the extra authentication.
4. Add your phone number to the account.
5. It's useful when you contact us to retrieve your account, but you lost the access to the your email.
6. Check "Last Account Activity" in the account section periodically to see if there's any unauthorized access.
7. Change your passwords every few months. Check if your email and related website accounts are exposed to cybercriminals. (1) (2)
# · Do you offer social (third-party) login options?
No, for the sake of your data privacy, there's no possible to login with a social (third-party) account, such as Facebook, Google, Twitter, etc. To start using Hearty Journal, please create an account (Hearty ID).
# · Can I use Hearty Journal without an account?
No, to start using Hearty Journal you need to create an account (Hearty ID). Your Hearty ID will be the identity and let you access to the diary entries on any of your devices. Also, all your data will be securely synced and backup to the cloud with the ID.
# · Not receiving verification emails
You should receive a verification email within 5 minutes after signing up or after adding a new email address. If you're not seeing it in your inbox, check out these suggestions:
1.Refresh you web browser to check for new emails in your inbox.\
2.Check your spam/junk folder.\
3.Check the spelling of your email address.
# · Unable to show weather info on posts
To add weather information on your posts, tap \[Allow] on the location request dialog when you try to create a new post.
To troubleshoot problems, check the permissions on the app setting section.

Please check the video link. The link may be corrupted, private or not allowed to embedded due to the video setting.

To add images for posts, you need to allow app to access files and camera on your device. Remember to tap \[Allow] on the access request dialog when you try to add images.

# Data Safety
How is my data stored, is it secure?
Hearty Journal is hosted on both two leading providers, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud to ensure the highest level of security and stability for the service.
We store multiple, redundant, encrypted copies of your information in two different regions (Tokyo, Japan & The Dalles, Oregon, USA), so you don’t have to worry about ever losing your data. Moreover, we do daily backups of the user data, and weekly snapshots of the entire system.
One more thing, all connections are encrypted via TLS 1.3 - technology designed for online banking, when you're using Hearty Journal on any of your devices.
Hearty Creative Inc. owns or controls access to the infrastructure that Hearty Journal uses to host and process data submitted to the services. Currently, the Hearty Journal production systems used for hosting data for the services are located in co-location facilities in Taiwan, Japan, USA and Europe. The [溫度日記 Hearty Journal](https://hearty.me) stores and processes personal data that you have provided to us, in order to provide our Service. It’s your responsibility to keep your phone and access to the app secure. We therefore recommend that you do not jailbreak or root your phone, which is the process of removing software restrictions and limitations imposed by the official operating system of your device. It could make your phone vulnerable to malware/viruses/malicious programs, compromise your phone’s security features and it could mean that the 溫度日記 Hearty Journal app won’t work properly or at all.

You should be aware that there are certain things that Hearty Creative Inc. will not take responsibility for. Certain functions of the app will require the app to have an active internet connection. The connection can be Wi-Fi, or provided by your mobile network provider, but Hearty Creative Inc. cannot take responsibility for the app not working at full functionality if you don’t have access to Wi-Fi, and you don’t have any of your data allowance left.
If you’re using the app outside of an area with Wi-Fi, you should remember that your terms of the agreement with your mobile network provider will still apply. As a result, you may be charged by your mobile provider for the cost of data for the duration of the connection while accessing the app, or other third party charges. In using the app, you’re accepting responsibility for any such charges, including roaming data charges if you use the app outside of your home territory (i.e. region or country) without turning off data roaming. If you are not the bill payer for the device on which you’re using the app, please be aware that we assume that you have received permission from the bill payer for using the app.
Along the same lines, Hearty Creative Inc. cannot always take responsibility for the way you use the app i.e. You need to make sure that your device stays charged – if it runs out of battery and you can’t turn it on to avail the Service, Hearty Creative Inc. cannot accept responsibility.

# Service Level Agreement, SLA
Hearty Journal SLA. During the Term of the agreement under which Hearty Creative Inc. (as applicable, the "Hearty") has agreed to provide the Hearty Journal Core Services to Paid Customer with active VIP Premium Membership (as applicable, the "Agreement"), the (i) Hearty Journal Core Services, including the primary website and apps will be operational and available to Customer at least 99% of the time in any calendar month. If Hearty does not meet the Hearty Journal SLA, and if Customer meets its obligations under this Hearty Journal SLA, Customer will be eligible to receive the Service Credits described below. This Hearty Journal SLA states Customer's sole and exclusive remedy for any failure by Hearty to meet the Hearty Journal SLA.
**1.Definitions.**\
The following definitions shall apply to the Hearty Journal SLA.\
"Downtime" means, for a domain, if there is more than a 10% user error rate. Downtime is measured based on server side error rate.\
"Monthly Uptime Percentage" means total number of minutes in a calendar month minus the number of minutes of Downtime suffered in a calendar month, divided by the total number of minutes in a calendar month.\

"Service Credit" means the following: \
Monthly Uptime Percentage / Days of Service added to the end of the Service term at no charge to Customer
* < 99% \~ > 95%: 3 Days
* < 95% \~ > 90%: 7 Days
* < 90%: 15 Days
**2.Customer Must Request Service Credit.**\
In order to receive any of the Service Credits described above, Customer must notify Hearty within 7 days from the time Customer becomes eligible to receive a Service Credit. Failure to comply with this requirement will forfeit Customer's right to receive a Service Credit.
**3.Maximum Service Credit.**\
The aggregate maximum number of Service Credits to be issued by Hearty to Customer for all Downtime that occurs in a single calendar month shall not exceed 15 days of Service added to the end of Customer's term for the Service. Service Credits may not be exchanged for, or converted to, monetary amounts.
**4.Hearty Journal SLA Exclusions.**\
The Hearty Journal SLA does not apply to any services that expressly exclude this Hearty Journal SLA (as stated in the documentation for such services) or any performance issues: (i) caused by factors described in the "Force Majeure" section of the Agreement; or (ii) that resulted from Customer's equipment or third party equipment, or both (not within the primary control of Hearty).
